This finishing option with the shortest turnaround time. Parts have visible tool marks and potentially sharp edges and burrs, which can be removed upon request.

Smooth machining (Ra 1.6μm / Ra 63μin)

Smooth machining is similar to a ‘As machined’ finish, but with less visible machine marks. Parts are machined at a lower feed rate, with no hand polishing.

Polishing is the process of creating a smooth and shiny surface by rubbing it or by applying a chemical treatment.

It is a process that tumbles vibrating media on machined parts to remove sharp edges and burrs.
Tumbling can be used to remove machine marks from exterior surfaces.

The parts are bead blasted to #120 grit before being anodized type II—ideal for increasing the aluminum part’s corrosion resistance and cosmetic effects.

The parts are bead blasted to #120 grit before being anodized type III. Type III (Hard Coat) is thicker and adds a wear-resistant layer to Type II’s corrosion resistance, suitable for functional applications.

Do you have a minimum order quantity?

NO! – No minimum quantity! ±3 provides rapid prototypes and short to medium-run production machining services.

What type of design files does ±3 accept for quoting?

For the 3D drawing, we would prefer STEP, IGES, or X_T format. For the 2D drawing, we would prefer PDF format there are tolerances with the dimensions if possible.

How can I pay ±3?

±3 accepts payment in two ways: 1. Bank to bank wire transfer 2. PayPal

What general tolerances can Plus Minus Three Industrial Co., Ltd achieve?

General CNC Machining Tolerances on metal to +/- 0.005" (+/- 0.127 mm) following ISO 2768 unless otherwise specified. CNC Plastics and composites will be +/- 0.010”(+/- 0.254 mm).

What precision tolerances can ±3 achieve?

CNC Precision Machining Tolerances down to ±.0002" (0.005mm). ±3 can manufacture and inspect to tight tolerances per your drawing specifications.

How quickly can I get my parts?

Lead times are 2 to 3 weeks for prototypes and 4 weeks for production runs. Emergency and rush services are available.
